Good Gift Idea

We received some new domed paperweights today that I am VERY excited to share with everyone. These paperweights can be monogrammed with a single letter, word, or someone's full initials. Or, you can leave the paperweight as is - with no monogram (they are pretty enough on their own!)

I've uploaded a few images. Email us if you would like to see the entire line or special order a paperweight of your own!

Monogramed paperweight: $60
Paperweight w/o Monogram: $50

FANS OF ACQUIRE

We're on Facebook.
Please join HERE.

The earliest mirrors, used during the Middle Ages, were handheld and typically made of slightly convex, highly polished disks of silver or bronze. However, it wasn't until the 19th century, when a German chemist developed the process of coating a glass surface with metallic silver, that mirrors became easier to manufacture and more accessible to the public.

Glass convex mirrors (also known as the "bullseye" mirror) were created as early as the 15th century. These mirrors have continued to be sought after by designers & collectors alike, due to the interesting perspective the outward curvature of the glass provides. An exciting focal point can be created in a room by grouping small and large convex mirrors together. The effect of the light and distorted angles reflected in the glass leaves a fun and lasting impression.

We will be getting two sizes of these lovely convex mirrors into the store on March 3rd. Our 7.5" diameter mirror retails for $35 and our 11.5" diameter mirror retails for $45.

New Shots of the Store!

I brought my camera to the store today to grab a few new shots. The place has finally refilled itself again after the holiday season. Enjoy!

Made from hand-worked Borosilicate Glass, these champagne flutes are truly something special. You can mix and match the set as you wish (each glass is sold individually for $10 each).

These glasses flew out of the store the last time we showed them at ACQUIRE. Well, I am happy to report they are back in stock-- just in time for toasting your love on Valentine's Day.

History Buffs Rejoice!

Gilles Robert de Vaugondy and his son Didier were the leading mapmakers in France during the 1700's. Didier was appointed geographer to Louis XV in 1760 and turned out some AMAZING maps. A faithful reproduction of the Vaugondy cartography, these globes would look elegant in any setting. (I particularly like them grouped in odd numbers in a bowl for a coffee table display.)

I have the following sizes available in both black and ivory:
small size (12cm): $9
medium size (14cm): $15
large size (18cm): $25

I also have mahogany wood stands that fit all three size globes. The stand retails for $18. It looks great on desks, bookshelves and mantels.
